Building a Parents Rights Network ILC project Evaluation Positive Powerful Parents (2024)

Completing an evaluation of an ILC funded project undertaken by the self advocacy group Positive Powerful Parents (PPP). Undertaking interviews with members of PPP, staff and partner agencies, reviewing key reporting documents and producing a report outlining key achievements and areas for improvement.

Disability Action Plan (2014-2023) Evaluation Moonee Valley City Council (2023)

Undertaking a review of Moonee Valley City Council’s Disability Action Plan (2014-2023). Undertaking interviews with Council staff, reviewing key documents and producing a report examining the status of actions and recommending future actions.

Project Officer

Working as a member of a collaborative team to provide targeted, short term support to Victorian self advocacy groups. Support includes providing information about good governance, specialist self advocacy training, grants support and general advice about running a community group. Specialised in working with groups focused on empowering people with disability from LGBTIQA+ and non-english speaking backgrounds.

Senior Policy Officer Policy and Strategy team (2021-2022)

Coordinated broad stakeholder engagement as part of the consultation on Inclusive Victoria: State Disability Plan 2022–2026 . This included delivering online engagement and designing consultation strategies to support participation of people from non-dominant (diverse) backgrounds.

This role included the review and analysis of whole of government policy documents and the provision of specialist advice about access and inclusion issues impacting people with disability.

Senior Project Officer Strategic Engagement Team (2018-2021)

Coordinated the development and implementation of the Victorian Disability Advocacy Futures Plan 2018-20 including rapid analysis of written submissions and drafting the plan. Development and implementation (including stakeholder management of 25 projects) of the $3.1 million Victorian Disability Advocacy Futures – Grants Program.

Designed a draft new outcomes framework for the Victorian Disability Advocacy Program.

Delivery and design of several COVID-19 outreach projects designed to provide rapid support, ICT access and flexible outreach to people with disability during the pandemic via advocacy agencies and self advocacy groups.

Acting Manager Strategic Engagement Team (August – December 2019)

Managed a team of four delivering services and projects including the Departments Disability Action Plan and the Victorian Disability Advocacy Program.

Policy Officer Merri-Bek City Council (January – September 2018 -Part-time secondment)

Oversaw the implementation of the Disability Access and Inclusion Plan and Human Rights Policy, including provision of policy advice, program monitoring and reporting. Secretariat of Councils Disability Advisory Committee

Metro Access Project Officer Moonee Valley City Council (2014–2017)

Led the delivery of Council diversity plans by undertaking project management, policy advice, conducting community research and stakeholder engagement activities.

Coordinated community-wide social change and awareness-raising events.

Oversaw the establishment of Crown Street Stables Community Café (social enterprise), which won the Aged & Disability Services Award (2017).

Part of a project team who were finalists in the Victorian Disability Awards (2016) for the Living Safer Sexual Lives; Respectful Relationships Project.

Acting Coordinator of Healthy Ageing and Disability Moonee Valley City Council (January – July 2016 & May – August 2017)

Managed a team of 35 staff responsible for delivering services, programs and projects improving access and inclusion for seniors and people with disability.

Project Officer Self-Advocacy Resource Unit (SARU) (2011-2013)

End-to-end project management and co-production including design, implementation, and evaluation.

Convened networks, provided advice, and delivered training programs for user-led community groups.

Developed research reports and resources to support self-advocacy groups.

Delivered a project which aimed to strengthen the groups governance and organisational policies.

Provision of project and organisational support as required including grants management, governance and administration support.
